M-Sport’s pre-event test for Rally Finland has been cut short after Sebastien Ogier crashed the Ford Fiesta WRC overnight.

Seb Ogier gives Teemu Suninen some tips at M-Sport's pre-Rally Finland test.Ogier, said to be on the last run of the day, hit a rock which was pulled out on a previous run.

The impact broke the suspension on the car, sending him into a tree.

Uninjured in the heavy sixth gear crash, Ogier was still happy with the set-up of the Fiesta.

“The car felt fantastic to drive the last two days,” Ogier said on Twitter.

The car, which was badly damaged, cannot be repaired in time for Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen’s scheduled tests before Finland.

Evans will be unable to test before Finland, however, M-Sport are hoping to get Suninen a test in the days before the rally.

Ogier will start from first on the road in Finland at an event which he won in 2013.
