Perfect start for Gill in Hokkaido Rally

Driving his Skoda Fabia S2000, Gill and co-driver, Glenn Macneall, completed the 1.20 kilometre stage in a time of one minute, 8.6 seconds, the fastest of the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship regulars.
New Zealander Brian Green, who is scoring team points for Team MRF in Japan in the absence of Chris Atkinson, was third fastest of the APRC runners and sits in 10th place overall.
The first full day of the Hokkaido Rally will see competitors tackle 10 special stages on Saturday, the longest of which is the 28.04km New Kunneywa stage, which will be run three times.
The day finishes with a further two runs around the 1.20km Super Special Stage.
