Rhys Pinter and the team at Rhys Pinter Rallysport hope to get their 2013 NSW & ACT rally championship back on track after a disastrous first round at the National Capital Rally.

Rhys Pinter, who is the 2012 ACT Novice and NSW Excel Rally Series champion,is keen to score valuable points in both the ACT and NSW sections of the Bega Valley Rally in his well prepared Hyundai Excel.

Rhys came into the National Capital rally full of confidence after a successful test a couple weeks prior to the event and had the help of Adrian Coppin and Neal Bates as mentors. However on the second stage the team encountered an issue where a driveshaft ceased which did not allow for Rhys to turn causing them to have a soft roll.

“It was very disappointing, we had a home crowd and people to come see and support me and to have a driveshaft cease was disappointing especially only being a stage and a half into a two day rally!”

However since the event the team has been working hard to repair the damage and prepare the car for their favourite event of the year the Bega Valley Rally.

“We have been working hard on repairing the car and absolutely cannot wait to get to Bega and give it a red hot crack,” Pinter said.

“We are keen to get out and show the speed we missed out on at the Nat Cap and also take on the Victorian excel drivers.”

This event will be a special one as it will be the 40th Jubilee of the event.

Rhys and Rhys Pinter Rallysport is also very excited to announce a new major partner for 2013 in Damesa Industries.

“It’s absolutely fantastic to have Damesa Industries on board with me for season 2013! Its hard enough at the top level to receive sponsorship let alone at State level and to get the support that I have with them is great! I can’t wait to go out and do them proud,” Pinter said.

Oliver Jentsch who owns Damesa Industries jumped at the opportunity to support the rising rally driver. “Rhys approached me and we had a chat at the National Capital rally and after seeing was he has done in 2012 and having mentors such as Adrian Coppin and Neal Bates I thought it would be good to give a young guy a chance to help him make it. I have clients as far as the Bega/Eden region which is where the rally is held and was a great way to get some more exposure down that way.”

Damesa Industries now joins other regular partners at Rhys Pinter Rallysport, which include Southern Automotive Services and Revell Steering.
