Whilst not repeating their win in the 2018 Ada River Rally, Warren Lee and David Lethlean have somewhat defended their honour by finishing first 4WD in the rain-drenched 2019 event.
Reverting to Dunlop wet tyres for this event, Wal and Shermo survived both treacherously slippery legs, their Lancer Evo 9 finishing just behind the winning Escorts of Luke Sytema and Justin Walker.
“We didn’t use the newer DZ88R tyre which is for dry use, instead we opted for the DZ87RW, which kept the boys on the road,” Dunlop's Russell Stuckey said.
“We are hoping for a dry year to fully prove the new DZ88R in preparation for the Alpine Rally in December," he added.
