Round 4 of the WA Rally Championship, the Donnelly Rally, was held at the weekend using the high speed roads near Bridgetown in the State's south west.
The Busselton Subaru Service crew of Leigh Hynes and co-driver Stuart Percival went into the event as favourites after winning the previous two rounds.
Unfortunately luck wasn’t on their side this weekend when on stage 3 an electrical fault cost them over 12 minutes.

The pair had a 21 second lead after two stages but 1km from the end of the stage a fuel pump relay failed. Hynes did well to trace the problem and get the car mobile fairly quickly but unfortunately the time lost dropped them a long way down the field.
With five stages remaining, they went on full attack to climb up to 11th outright and with it setting fastest times on six of the remaining eight stages.
John Macara went on to win the event from Chris Anderson with the Cambray Cheese team of Tom and Neralie Wilde third in another Impreza assisted by Busselton Subaru Service.
Hynes and Percival’s previous 13 point championship lead is now a three point deficit to Lee McIlroy with the final round of the championship remaining on October 17 in the Mundaring forest.
