Competitors endured rain, hail and shine over today's final heat of the penultimate round of the Bosch Australian Rally Championship.

The Evans brothers had a fierce battle all day with Mazda's Simon Evans taking the Bosch Two Wheel Drive ARC heat win by 17.4 sec from younger brother Eli in his works Honda Jazz G2.

Mark Pedder captured third, another 2 min 23.4sec further back after his Honda suffered a loose steering column on the first stage of the day.

Simon Evans says he enjoyed having to work for the his first heat victory in the Mazda against younger brother Eli and couldn't have done it without the Rallyschool.com.au team.
Â
"It's really good to have Eli as a front runner in the ARC," said Simon Evans.

"I'm really looking forward to battling with him again at Rally Victoria and throughout next year.

"He might have won this year, but he'll always be the little brother!

"Mick Ryan and the Rallyschool.com.au team have provided me with a great car this weekend and it's great to reward them with the a heat win in the car's second event."

Eli Evans claimed the round win after taking out the first heat yesterday and backing it up with second in today's heat, Mark Pedder took second, while Holden V8 ute driver Matt Amos partnered by 16 year old Tom Ryan took third outright in the two wheel drives category despite the testing conditions

Wauchope's Michael Boaden in his Mitsubishi Evo IX conquered the slippery conditions to fulfil his dream of winning his home round after wrapping up the Bosch Four Wheel Drive ARC yesterday.

Boaden finished 1 min 4.7sec ahead of Brisbane's Matt Van Tuinen in the Subaru WRX STi after a tight, three way battle with Boaden, and John Mitchell.

Mitchell was challenging Boaden throughout the early part of the day and trailed by only 15.4 seconds however an issue on stage 12 saw him fall down the order to 11th by the end of the day.

Canberra's Michael Patton took third in his Subaru STi taking his second ARC podium for the year in only his 12th rally, having started in the sport just two years when he won a drive in Rally Australia.

Patton and co-driver Bernie Webb are now second in the Bosch four wheel drive ARC heading to the final round in Victoria nest month.

Michael Boaden says it was a relief to wrap up the championship on heat one allowing him to enjoy today's final six stages.

"It was really slippery out there but great fun," said Michael Boaden.
Â
"We were sideways through a lot of the stages so I'm glad I was in a four wheel drive car, it would have been a bit interesting if I wasn't.
Â
"I've always wanted to win my home event and to win the championship on the same weekend is just a dream come true. It doesn't get any better than this."
Â
New South Wales' Adam Casmiri claimed the two wheel drive Rallyschool Australian Junior Challenge final while Nathan Berry won the four wheel drive RAJC.

Cody Crocker sealed the Side by Side Rally Challenge in his Polaris with another round win ahead of Snake Racing's Wayne Murphy with 2011 ARC runner up Ryan Smart taking the final step on the podium in his Side by Side debut.
