Rally Australia does not anticipate any significant impact from the Federal parliamentary election to be held on the second-last day of our event on Saturday 14 September. However, the organisers will be taking all possible steps to ensure out-of-town visitors and residents along the route are able to vote.
During the World Rally Championship round on 12-15 September, the Coffs region is expected to be packed with spectators, competitors, officials, media and other visitors, plus thousands of locals who traditionally attend front-yard parties along the route.
Rally Australia will work with the Electoral Commission to make sure everyone is informed about the options for registering a vote and that no-one is inconvenienced.
The Australian Electoral Commission advises voters should visit the AEC website at www.aec.gov.au to view options available relating to early voting.
The preferred options are early voting in their home State (early polling stations will be listed on the website) or to apply for a postal vote where the voting proxy will be sent directly to them and can be simply mailed back.
