It was a great weekend for MRF Tyres at Kennards Hire Rally Australia with the Indian company taking their first top 10 finish in WRC competition. It was CAMS Australian Rally Champion, Nathan Quinn with Ben Searcy alongside who finished in ninth position - a significant moment for the brand who are continuing to build their profile in rallying across the world. MRF Tyres brought 750 tyres to Coffs Harbour for the State and National field. Soft and medium compounds were the order of the weekend for the competitors, though the new hard compound was on offer for the first time. Tyre wear was not an issue for the competitors with many using under their quota, an average of 14 tyres were used my MRF competitors over the weekend. Along with Nathan Quinn, taking the ARC title, Wayne Morton and Megan Benson won the Queensland Rally Championship; John O'Dowd and Ken Sheil won the ARC2 4WD trophy and Stephen Mee with Matthew Harriott. While it was a disappointing end for Molly Taylor, her co-driver Bill Hayes beat Ben Searcy to become Co-Driver's Champion. After a successful weekend at Rally Australia, MRF Tyres will be in action at Rally New Zealand and the Alpine Rally.
