Last weekend’s Touor of Cornwall Rally in the UK saw the unforunate demise of Chris O’Connor’s Darrian GTR kit car.
O’Connor and co-driver Mark Mason spun into the undergrowth at the Predannack airfield stage and were beached on an earth mound. The hot exhaust and brakes set light to the surrounding gorse and the car was totally burnt out.
Fortunately both crew members were able to escape from the car unscathed.
In an almost comical twist, the windscreen sticker on the car BEFORE it caught fire read: “LegendFires”.
Mark Simpson from www.cmwi.net was on hand to capture this horrifying images of the car in flames.
