A rally driver competing in Targa Rotorua on the weekend has had his right leg amputated.
Experienced rally driver Stuart Scoular had to be cut from the car he was racing when it slammed into a concrete underpass, and later had one of his legs amputated.
Scoular was operated on at Waikato Hospital where he had his right leg amputated below the knee after the Subaru Impreza WRX he was driving crashed near Putaruru.
