Round 1 of the Exedy Victorian Rally Championship [VRC] will be based at the Ballan Racecourse near Ballarat on March 10. With 175km of competitive forest racing, this rally will be an exciting start to the 2012 season.
A huge field of top contenders has entered, including last year’s Australian Rally Champion and last year’s Victorian Rally Champion. This event also combines with the Victorian Club Rally Series, ensuring plenty of action in the forest for spectators to enjoy. Spectator guides and more information will be available at www.vicrally.com.au
The www.gonutsforcars.com.au Rally Team began preparations early this year with only minor work to do to the car after a well earned Christmas holiday rest.
The car responded eagerly to the first hit of the start button after its well earned rest, and the Castrol oil immediately went to correct pressure, lubricating the well rested engine internals.
The team held a testing and team bonding day recently, tuning up driver David Nutter and co-driver Jenna Kelley, and also shaking down the car, which passed the day’s test without a glitch. The David Nutter Ford Used Cars Workshop & Berwick Volkswagen team technicians had an easy time, signalling good reliability for the year.
The rally starts at Kings Cars at 345 Learmonth Road in Ballarat, before heading out to the forests and the Ballan central headquarters/service park, where spectators can also gather to see the service crews in action. Â
The team is geared up and intends to surprise with results this year!
