With preparations now well underway for this year’s Repco Rally Australia, and with RallySport Magazine’s appointment as the official spectator tour operators for the event, last week we visited northern NSW to take a look at the location of the rally.

After meeting with RRA staff, we were shown the proposed location of both the Service Park (in Kingscliff) and Super Special Stage (in Murwillumbah).  The Super Special looks like being a fantastic part of the rally – the track is a street stage based on that currently used by the Speed on Tweed event and will provide plenty of exciting action.

Rally organisers are currently in negotiations to run Speed on Tweed over the same weekend as Rally Australia, which will give spectators the opportunity to watch some rare classic cars complete the stage, as well as seeing all the awesome WRC action.  We’ll keep you posted!

We had the opportunity to drive many of the stages that the rally will use in the Kyogle and Border Ranges area, and competitors and spectators should be impressed with what they see when the September 3-6 event gets underway.

We are also working alongside the rally organisers to find the best possible spectator points, some of which will be exclusive points for only the ‘official’ tour and corporate guests.  With many years experience in hosting spectator tours, we know what our guests like and we are working hard to find suitable viewing spots.

One of the advantages of taking part in the RallySport Magazine spectator tour will be the opportunity to stay at SALT Resort – Rally Headquarters.  We have secured rooms at both hotels at SALT Resort at Kingscliff – Mantra on Salt Beach, and Peppers – both of which are 4½ star properties, and know you will be impressed with the standard of accommodation.

As many of the rally teams (and RallySport Mag) have already taken block bookings at the hotels, Mantra on Salt Beach is already booked out and Peppers is filling up fast.

If you are planning on attending this year’s Repco Rally Australia Tour, we invite you to join us on the official Spectator tour and encourage you to reserve your place as soon as possible.  With a lot of interest already from overseas groups wishing to attend the event, places will be limited and we would hate for our valued Aussie guests to miss out!
