The Raymond Partners Accountants Rally Team of Glen and Matt Raymond will make a return to the Australian Rally Championship in 2013.

‘Raymo’ has tasted success at both national and international level, including becoming the youngest ever winner of an Australian Rally Championship round and finishing second outright in the 2009 Australian Rally Championship.

With the Australian Rally Championship moving to two-wheel drive only, Raymond's weapon of choice is a Mazda RX7 Turbo, a rear wheel drive rally car.

Despite a different approach to the current crop of front-wheel drive rally cars, with a powerful rotary engine the car and crew will be a crowd pleaser, as well as an outright contender.

The team has plans to enter as many events as possible, including chasing the highly sought Junior Rally Challenge. The first event entered will be the National Capital Rally, held in Canberra at the start of March. The hunt is currently on for sponsorship to enter the full championship.

“I have really missed driving,” stated driver Glen Raymond. “I have still been active in rallying, including becoming the 2012 Victorian Rally Championship winning navigator with my brother Stephen, so I am sure my skills will be as sharp as ever.”

“The car will need some work,” continued Glen Raymond, “including some engine and suspension upgrades, but I believe it will be more than capable of running at the pointy end of the field.”
