Citroen Racing have confirmed that eight-time World Rally Champion (and 2012 Championship leader), Sebastien Loeb, will contest a reduced programme of events in 2013.

Loeb has confirmed his desire to compete in other forms of motorsport including the World Touring Car Championship, and a reduced number of events in 2013 will allow him to do so.

With a ninth WRC title looking very likely, many expected Loeb to push for a tenth consecutive World Rally Championship crown, but even with a limited program next year, the Frenchman could still be a chance to do just that.

Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmho Lehtinen will have a full program in 2013 but no announcement has yet been made of the second crew that will compete for Citroen Racing in Loeb's absence.  Rumours suggest Thierry Neuville and Kris Meeke are both on the short list. Khalid Al-Qassimi will drive a third DS3 WRC for Citroen next season.
