Australian brother-sister rally team, Brendan Reeves and Rhianon Smyth, have continued their excellent form at the Oregon Trail Rally, round 3 of the Rally America Series, in Portland. After starting day two leading the 2WD class by 18.6 seconds, the pair have extended that lead to over two minutes and have also climbed the overall leaderboard to sit in fifth outright place.

Driving a Ford Fiesta R2 for Team O'Neil, Reeves and Smyth have impressed their rivals and are thoroughly enjoying their US debut. The Aussie duo won all of Saturday's eight stages in the 2WD class and matched times with their 4WD competitors in some instances.  The short, twisty stages created lots of dust which took a long time to clear in the thick forest and at times Reeves was catching the dust created by the driver in front.

"It was a great day, today," Reeves said, "and we are very happy with the car and the stage times.

"The car was so well balanced and gave us a lot of confidence in the twisty stages.  Tomorrow is quite different, though, with massive straights and we expect it to be super fast."

Sunday's rally action will again be held in the forests around Portland, Oregon. Competitors will contest a further five stages with a total rally distance of 49.50 miles (79.20 kilometres).
