Talented young Victorian driver Brendan Reeves and his co-driving sister, Rhianon Smyth, are heading to New Zealand in a couple of weeks time to compete in Repco Rally New Zealand.
The pair will once again drive a Ford Fiesta from Kayne Barrie Motorsport and will contest the Fiesta Sporting Trophy, part of the New Zealand Rally Championship which will run in conjunction with the WRC event.
After their performance in June’s Rally of Whangarei in which they were clearly the fastest Fiesta, Reeves is really looking forward to returning to New Zealand.
“It was really disappointing not to finish Rally Whangarei after we got a flat tyre on the second day, especially as we had had such a good run on the Saturday,” he said. “We are really keen to get back there and try and go one better.”
“The roads over there are awesome,” Reeves added. “To have a trouble-free run would be fantastic.”
Five crews will contest the Ford Fiesta Sporting Trophy in Repco Rally New Zealand which starts in the North Island city of Hamilton on August 28.
