The 2017 CAMS Onslow Contracting Western Australian Rally Championship is ready to roar with the start of the season just one week away.

Mick Steele, Subaru Impreza WRX.Rally WA Chairman Ross Tapper said that 2017 is set to be another challenging year for both man and machine.

“After a break, we’re all firing, ready to go and I’m sure the competitors are ready to fuel the friendly rivalry and enjoy the camaraderie that the State Championship has become known for,” Mr Tapper said.

“However, events don’t run themselves and ours is no different – it wouldn’t be possible to stage a WA State Rally Championship without our valuable sponsors, all of whom I would like to sincerely thank.

“This year is the third year of a five-year agreement of Onslow Contracting’s naming rights sponsorship who have shown tremendous support.

“Healthway and Quit have been an important supporters of Rally WA for many years and we envisage this continuing as we finalise the agreement for 2017.

“Auto One and Verandah Apartments are again on board as gold sponsors and Network IT and Back Up 4 Me will continue to go above and beyond their silver sponsorship as they manage results and provide the associated hardware required.

“Big thanks to competitor Mick Steele who through Natrad Malaga has brokered a sponsorship deal to add Natrad to Rally WA’s list of gold sponsors. Further, Natrad supports the Rally WA YouTube videos that are being produced this year that I’m sure competitors and spectators will enjoy.

Mr Tapper said silver sponsors Fineline Print & Copy Service will again print the road books, posters, spectator guides and other material, Sushi Digital will host the website and Japline Subaru Servicing and Parts, Wheels on Yirrigan Kumho Tyre and the Morley Tyre Centre will service Rally WA competitors with quality service, parts and pricing.

“I'd also like to send my gratitude to volunteers who do all manner of tasks from liaising with land owners to managing refuel zones, sorting uniforms, organising documentation, scrutineering, rally controls, road closures, spectator marshals - the list goes on and on,” Mr Tapper said.

“Thanks to each and everyone of our volunteers for all their tireless work and a special thanks to those who run each event, donating hundreds of hours of their time to ensure each rally is run smoothly and safely.”

2017 CAMS Onslow Contracting Western Australian Rally Championship starts on 25 March with the Trade Hire Kin Kin Rally near Manjimup.
