The Australian Rally Championship will continue their partnership with International Motorsport Solutions, suppliers of Shell Racing Fuel - WR.
IMS will continue to supply the ARC as the official fuel supplier for the Elite Category in 2009.
In a boost to the championship, Shell Racing will provide teams with 102 Octane control fuel at $5.47 per litre, which is a reduction in the price per litre from what teams paid for fuel in 2007, in an environment of rising fuel prices.
This is a significant achievement for Australian Rally Championship organisers.
Simon Ingram, Director of IMS Said today that: “Competitors in the Elite category who use Shell Racing – WR are guaranteed of the same specification fuel for all rounds of the Championship. Shell Racing WR meets the same technical specifications as fuels previously used in the ARC and also the specifications set down by the Federation de l’Automobile (FIA)."
Rallycorp Chairman, Ben Rainsford, was pleased to announce the renewed partnership.
“We are happy to welcome Shell Racing on board for the ARC again in 2009. Shell is one of the world leaders in fuel technology and the ability for ARC competitors to have fuel that is consistent and of the highest quality is paramount.â€
Benefits flow to competitors from Shells European research and development arm and performance gains are well documented. Shell Racing WR fuel is also a “greenerâ€fuel than its pump counterpart.
Orders for Shell Racing – WR are to be made via the ‘Buy Fuel’ link on www.rally.com.au and fuel is distributed directly to the competitors or for pick up from the refuel zone at each event.
Fuel orders for Tasmania and Western Australia must be received three weeks prior to the event, whilst for all other ARC events, fuel orders need to be placed two weeks in advance of the event.
