2003 World Rally Champion, Petter Solberg, could make a return to the WRC in 2015 according to autosport.com.

Solberg, who won this year’s World RX Championship after departing the WRC at the end of 2012, has always maintained his desire to return to rallying.

"Things are happening," said Solberg, "and, yes, maybe it is possible (to go back to the WRC).”

"Nothing is sorted for next season. I always said I would never say never when I was asked about going back to the WRC.

"Rallying is in my heart and always will be.”

Solberg admitted that a start at next month’s Monte Carlo Rally was unlikely but added:

"But after that, who knows? I like Sweden and we did well there in the last couple of years (winning the Swedish historic event in his own Ford Escort).”

The Norwegian also contested the Condroz Rally in Belgium recently in a Citroen C4 WRC. He was on the pace until forced to retire with transmission problems and says his experience in the World RX has made him a better driver.

"What I have been doing for the last two years has made me look at everything and analyse it a little bit differently. I'm driving better than ever now,” he said.

If he can secure the sponsorship to return to the WRC, Solberg would be a welcome addition.
