The first ever round of the all new Techworkz Development Rally Series, this weekend's V-Sport Stages at Termeil on the NSW south coast has attracted a stellar field of 31 entrants for the challenging one day event.

As well as being the opening round of the Techworkz Development Rally Series the VSport Stages will also host the first round of the revitalized one make Hyundai Development Rally Series.

The 31 car field in the V-Sport Stages twill tackle close to100km of competitive stages with a one day format on some of the finest rally stages in the Batemans Bay region. The V-Sport Stages will feature seven stages with four unique tests, with three run twice giving 100km of competitive driving on some of the most challenging roads in the state.

A total of 20 teams will battle out the inaugural round of the Techworkz DRS in an array of cars ranging from classics such as the nimble Ford Escort MkII of Terry Gaunter and the Dastun 1600 of Craig Kenchington to some modern rallying stalwarts like the Subaru RS of Woolgoolga's Mark Beard.

Eight teams will compete for Hyundai Development Rally Series honours in what is shaping up as a tightly contested series in 2014.

According to V-Sport Stages clerk of course Colin Fletcher, the interest in the Techworkz DRS and Hyundai Series is a positive reflection of the effort, which has gone into revitalizing the sport on NSW.

"It's great to see 31 teams ready to hit the forestry roads this weekend," said Col Fletcher.

"There has been a spike in entrants for the Hyundai Development Series this year and the re-formulation of the old Clubman Rally Series which has morphed into the DRS has generated a lot of excitement.

"We have ensured the event is a real driver's rally and no one will be disappointed with the roads and terrain we have selected."

The V-Sport Stages takes place this Saturday afternoon with the first car away at 1pm, running through the afternoon and into the evening with a scheduled finish of around 7:30pm.

A presentation ceremony will take place in the service park at Shallow Crossing Camping Ground after the field returns.
