With enormous interest already being shown in this year’s event, and big name competitors such as Jim Richards and defending champion, Ross Dunkerton, confirming their entries, QUIT Targa West is set to be an action-packed weekend of rallying entertainment.
Now in its third year, QUIT Targa West has already established itself as one of the premier rallies of its type, and organisers are looking forward to welcoming teams, both previous and new, to three days of exciting competition from September 6-9.
The wide and varied field of classic and modern vehicles will compete along some of the most spectacular roads that Western Australia has to offer.
Some new and exciting stages have been added since 2006. Friday’s rallying will be enjoyed in the Perth hills in the Shires of Kalamunda and Mundaring, around the cities of Gosnells and Armadale, while Saturday and Sunday will return again to the Chittering and Toodyay Shires.
During Friday, as well as the action out on the roads, the service park based around Kalamunda will give fans the chance to see the teams working on the cars as they come back into service.
On Friday night fans will have the opportunity to see the cars up close, and meet the drivers at the ‘Show and Shine’ being held in James Street, Northbridge, from 6pm – 9pm.
Event Director, Ross Tapper, is looking forward to a bumper field, and is excited about the quality of the course they have been able to provide.
“QUIT Targa West is more than just a rally; it is a chance for teams to escape from the real world and indulge their passion in this beautiful part of Australia,” Tapper said.
“The rally is a great way to combine passion with the social and competitive side of rallying, and battle it out on some of the best roads WA can offer.”
