Tasmanian rally driver Stephen Turner and his co-driver, Daniel Willson, will line up to compete against  the world’s best at Rally Australia this weekend, round 10 of the World Rally Championship.

The four day event will be held at Coffs Harbour covering 350 kilometres spread out over 22 competitive stages.

After a 10 month break due to lack of funding, Turner is looking forward to once again competing in the Ford Fiesta R2.

“I’m really excited to be competing at Rally Australia with Daniel and to be getting back into the Fiesta.  I haven’t used the car since Rally Victoria last November where we both finished on the podium so we know the car is quick. Hopefully it won’t take us long to get back on the pace,” Turner said.

The team are going into the event with high hopes of winning class 6.

"It’s not going to be easy, there will be some tough competition but I'm looking forward to the challenge," Turner said. "We really need a good result at this event so we can secure some more funding and contest the Australian Rally Championship next year"

For this event the team have received backing from Kumho Tyres as well as support from Signworks, Autocraft and Moonah Auto Parts.
