Australia’s leading female rally driver, Molly Taylor, has hit the headlines in Britain with the weekly ‘Motorsport News’ reporting that the 19-year old is targeting a drive in the Suzuki Swift Sport Cup, which runs as part of the British Rally Championship.

“We think the British series would be a really good stepping stone for Molly this year,” Taylor’s co-driver, Dale Moscatt, told Motorsport News. “Our aim for 2008 is to broaden her international experience, and I was impressed with the BRC when I went to the Isle of Man last year.

“Molly would love to rally in the UK and we’ve had a look at the various series on offer and the Swift Cup looks good. As usual, it’s all down to budget. Getting over to Britain for all the events won’t be cheap,” he added.

Moscatt said that Taylor’s aim for the future was to take part in the World Rally Championship, and that international experience is now the key for the young Sydney driver.
