Gold Coast husband and wife team, Jon and Gina Siddins, will attempt a hat trick at this year's Targa Tasmania, from April 16 to 21. In 2016 they won Targa Tasmania’s Shannons Classic GT, the first Datsun 240Z to win Classic GT/Classic Outright, with a compelling 5 minute 25 second lead. In 2017 they again won Shannon’s Classic GT and received much publicity after coming an astonishing ninth outright. Their outright placing did not go unnoticed with Barry Oliver, navigator to Jim Richards, writing an article for The Examiner newspaper last year, labelling their win “a David and Goliath battle”. see the full article here – http://www.examiner.com.au/story/4641252/an-ounce-of-passion/ Jon and Gina, known as Team 24oz (24 ounce), are the dynamic Datsun duo competing in their 1970 Datsun 240Z. Datsun 240Zs were known as the poor man’s E-Type Jaguar when they were first brought into Australia. Jon and Gina have a shared passion for the tarmac and compete in tarmac rallies and circuit racing events around Australia. They recently took both their race cars to Bathurst, where they both tackled Mount Panorama – “a lifelong dream”. They have a huge fan base from around the world on their Team 24oz Facebook page, sharing in-car footage, photos and a daily highlights video courtesy of Other Side Productions. Gina and Jon travel over 2000 kms during the event and compete in 33 competitive stages on closed roads in Targa Tasmania.
