Toyota Gazoo Racing has begun testing its 2021 WRC challenger, which will incorporate the brand's new performance GR Yaris road car. With the all-new four-wheel-drive Yaris is set to hit the roads later in 2020, but the tests have already begun on developing the new World Rally Car in line with the wider, more aggressive road car. With production numbers high, the World Rally Car will be able to take on the characteristics of the wider road car within homologation rules. “With the launch of the GR Yaris at Tokyo Auto Salon, we wanted to make sure our World Rally Car shares features with such an excellent car available for Toyota drivers around the world. We want to compete on the rally stages with as similar a car as possible to the one we have developed for the roads,” Team Principal Tommi Makinen said. Finn Juho Hanninen was captured testing the car by Henri Vuorinen below. https://twitter.com/VuorinenHenri/status/1225846159920566280
