Hayden Paddon won the FIA Pacific Rally Cup after finishing third overall on the Eureka Rush Rally in Ballarat, Victoria, at the wheel of a borrowed Hyundai i20 R5. Overall winner of the two-day event was Harry Bates in front of brother Lewis, both in Toyota Yaris AP4 cars. Paddon had 100 points, Harry Bates 77, Lewis Bates 55, while top co-driver was Harry Bates’ co-driver, John McCarthy. = = = = Former WRC driver Mikko Hirvonen will compete in Estonia this weekend at the Lõuna-Eesti (South Estonia) Rally. He will drive a Ford Fiesta R5, which will be prepared by MM Motorsport. It is now five years since Hirvonen has competed in a top line rally car. = = = = British Subaru WRX driver David Higgins won the seventh round of the American Rally Association championship, the Ojibwe Forests Rally run in Minnesota. Higgins finished over a minute in front of the Ford Fiesta driver Bruce McKenna, while Higgins teammate, Travis Pastrana, finished over four minutes behind. Pastrana, who won the ARA title in 2017 and now concentrates on rallycross events, was making his second appearance in the ARA this year. Nine times ARA champion Higgins has increased his championship lead.
