Mark Higgins (DMack Team Fiesta R5) and Craig Breen (Citroen DS3 R5) are to compete in the final round of the British Rally Championhip, Rally Isle of Man, while Mads Ostberg takes a Fiesta R5 to Rally Niedersachsen in Germany.  

Higgins is also a part time stunt driver, recently filming at night in the Vatican with the special James Bond version Aston Martin DB10.

STOP PRESS:  Provisional MERC Lebanon Rally winner, Abdo Feghali, was penalised five minutes for a tyre offense, relegating him to third place.  The winner now is another Lebanese driver, Tamer Ghandour (Evo X R4).

Peugeot driver Yoann Bonato scored the first outright win for an R5 car in the French championship when he won Rallye Mont Blanc, while Skoda Fabia R5 driver Sylvain Michel won the French Championship.

26 year old Peugeot 208 R2 driver, Fabio Andolfi, is to drive a Hyundai i20 R5 on the debut appearance of the model when he starts the WRC Tour de Corse.  This will be his first rally in a four-wheel drive car.

Chris van Woensel won the Belgian championship Omloop van Vlaanderen in an old Mitsubishi Evo V, beating Dutchman Bernhard ten Brinke (Fabia R5) and the Swede Emil Bergkvist (S3 R5).

Rallye Deutschland is not the only WRC rally planning to relocate its service park in 2017.  The Swedish Rally has been negotiating for their servicing to move from the bleak Hagfors airfield to the bleak Torsby airfield.

WRC driver Eric Camilli demonstrated the new special version Fiesta R2 National at Rallye Mont Blanc. This is the 10th different competition model Fiesta produced by M-Sport.

Jorge del Cid scored his second Spanish gravel championship rally win at the  “Ral.li Ciutat de Cervera”.   Still leading the series is Alex Villanueva, despite leaving the road and damaging the radiator of his DS3 R5.  Del Cid lies second.
