Toyota’s Monte Carlo testing was delayed when Jari-Matti Latvala went off the road, causing medical attention for Juho Hanninen, who was acting as co-driver.
The car was repaired in time for Kris Meeke to start his scheduled test programme later in the week, with his new co-driver Sebastian Marshall.

A major initiative has been announced in Spain with a Supercampeonato series of four asphalt and four gravel rallies, including the best events from the current asphalt CERA and the gravel CERT championships.
Current economic levels are the reason for the move, where currently the two existing series comprise in total 18 events. Originally it had been planned to launch this new series in 2020, but it will now start one year early.

Estonian VW Golf driver, Karl Kruuda, together with Australian co-driver Dale Moscatt, have won the final rally of the year in China.
Held at Huangguoshu, about 1000km north west of Hong Kong, Kruuda finished over four minutes ahead of the second placed Subaru XV, and another three minutes later came the third placed Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.
Accidents on narrow roads led to cancellation of some stages.
