Daniel Willson will be competing in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship Junior Cup with New Zealander Mike Young this year.
The season kicks of with Mike’s home event – New Zealand’s Brother International Rally of Whangarei on March 30 – April 1. The pair will be driving a Cusco prepared Proton Satria Neo, the same car that they used in Japan’s Rally Hokkaido last year. The car will be run as part of the K’s World Rally Team for this event.
"I’m really looking forward to competing on the fast and flowing NZ roads again before round two of the APRC, my home event, Rally Queensland in May, where the roads are much tougher, rougher and tighter than the ones in NZ," Willson said.
"In July we head to Malaysia where our previous experience will help us to get through the event a bit easier. The roads will be tough and the humidity will certainly make it a challenge, where temperature in the rally car can reach over 50 degrees C!
"The final event in the Junior Cup is Rally Hokkaido, held on the northern island in Japan. After competing in this event last year we have some experience that will certainly help us on the rutted rally roads."
