Youngster Kalle Rovanpera has been driving various cars, including Toyota’s WRC car, and now M-Sport say he has been driving one of their R5 cars, with suggestions he could compete on Wales Rally GB in a Fiesta R5. M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson said more in Bostalsee about this boy wonder driver, who will have turned 17 years old in time for WRGB. “I am pretty confident, but it is not confirmed that he’ll be in one of our cars on GB. “I visited the test myself because I wanted to see him.  He’s 16, but I have to tell you he’s a very young looking 16.  He might not appreciate me saying it, but really, without his crash helmet on he looks 12, 13 years old. “So to see this 16-year old boy get into the car and drive the way that he did is incredible. “Not only the way that he got in the car and drove it, his actual demeanour.  I was so surprised with his technical feedback. “I went back and pulled out all my notes when we tested Jari-Matti (Latvala) and Mikko (Hirvonen), when Jari was only 17, and looking at the comments, the changes made to the car. “Then looking at what comments 16-year old Kalle made, and I mean every single thing that we did to the car, he knew exactly what we had done, how we had done it, how it altered the performance of the car. “Apart from his driving, his technical ability as well is just incredible for a 16-year old.”
