Darren Windus has shown himself as the man to beat in the Focus On Furniture Victorian Rally Championship after winning the Eildon Stages Rally on March 21.

Justin Dowel, Warren Lea and Darren Windus fight it out for road position at the Eildon Stages.Driving a Subaru Impreza WRX, Windus finished over three minutes ahead of Warren Lee’s Mitsubishi Lancer, with Alan Friend third in a Nissan 200SX.

The first championship round of the year provided its fair share of retirements, with Justin Dowel being the most high profile. Others to visit the scenery included Luke Sytema who rolled his Escort, Windus’s son, Aaron, in a Subaru, and Shannon Fitcher (Datsun 1600) who also rolled.
