The sixth round of the 2019 European Rally Championship Barum Czech Rally Zlin takes place 16-18 August, with well more than 100 cars entered.

It is a traditional asphalt event based in the historic city of Zlin in south Czech Republic, made famous as the industrial centre of the Bata show company and home of the Barum tyre company.

It is now an epicentre of Czech rally sport.

The focus will be on two special challenges.  Only six points separate the leaders of the ERC, with the Russian Citroen driver Alexey Lukyanuk ahead of Polish businessman Lukasz Habaj. While the official Skoda driver and four times national champion Jan Kopecky seeks to score a fifth win on this event.

English Skoda driver Chris Ingram remains in contention for the ERC title.

There are to be six new model Skoda Fabia R5 Evo cars on the event among the 33 R5 cars entered while total entries are 137 cars.

Fast-changing weather patterns are a feature of the event.

The event clashes with the British championship Ulster Rally, based this year at Newry.
