The proposed calendar of events for the 2020 Australian Rally Championship is close to being completed as CAMS continue to work towards a more ‘unified’ championship.
A six-round championship is again proposed with the current three-event formats (compact, sprint, and endurance) all set to return again.
The new one-day format introduced for 2019 proved successful at its first trial in Canberra earlier this year.
Events wise, the calendar looks likely to stay the same.
The Forest Rally, Rally Tasmania and Adelaide Hills Rally will form the ‘sprint’ events over two days, while Rally Australia will continue as the endurance event.
Ballarat’s Eureka Rush and the National Capital Rally will again be one-day events.
“During the last two years CAMS have spent a large amount of time creating ARC level events that appeal to State and Club level contenders,” a CAMS statement said.
“This will continue as we worked towards a more unified Championship.”
