The FIA Production World Rally Championship will cater for Super 2000 vehicles (2 litre naturally-aspirated 4WD vehicles) and will run alongside the FIA World Rally Championship’s WRC cars. S2000 vehicles need to be homologated internationally under strict guidelines but there will need to be some concessions made to the rules to be applied to Australia, particularly the number of vehicle kits which must be produced as these will be significantly less than required for many other more-populated countries. The Australian Rally Championship next year will allow the entry of S2000 cars in its events.
