A fast-growing event in South Australia, the Rally of the Heartland is based in the idyllic town of Burra about two hours north of Adelaide and attracts entries from far and wide.

Notable entries in the event this year were the likes of Glenn Brinkman (Ford Escort RS Cosworth), Mal Keough (Audi Quattro S1 E2) and Nathan Quinn (Mazda RX2).

The event is also a part of the South Australian Rally Championship.

Ivar Stanelis, a longtime event director in the state, has built the event from nothing since its inception in 2017.

Action in the 2025 event will begin on ANZAC Day (Friday) after traditional services are conducted, and run for two and a half days on what’s expected to be more than 400 competitive kilometres.

Competitors, media and fans alike are encouraged to book their accommodation early.
