Toshi Arai debuted his new 2008 Subaru Impreza at last weekend’s Rally of Tsumagoi, held on the snowy roads beneath the Mt Asama volcano in Japan.

The event was a shakedown for the new Impreza, built by Arai Motorsport, and the new Subaru run faultlessly throughout the day.

The Rally of Tsumagoi is sponsored by Sanden, also one of Arai’s major sponsors, and covered eight stages in below-freezing conditions.

Thirty-seven competitors entered into the event, but it was Arai who stole the show, winning the event by minutes over many top local drivers.

Despite conditions being minus 11 degrees, the enthusiastic Subaru fans were ever present and happy to stand out in the snow to see their hero in action!

Australian drivers, Dean Herridge and Danny Murphy, also received a warm welcome in their roles driving the two Subaru Impreza course cars.
