Like Christmas, news on the 2020 Australian Rally Championship tyre contract is coming – but at least we know the date for Christmas.
The championship has been saying that a decision is imminent for weeks now, but a decision is still a little way from being announced.
"The ARC tyre contract is still being finalised and we expect to make an announcement shortly," CAMS Director of Motorsport & Commercial Operations, Michael Smith, said today.
"The 6th round of the ARC is still a TBC and we are looking at several options," he added.
It is thought that the choice for the ARC tyre contract is between Hoosier and MRF.
"Both the successful tyre supplier and myself have been overseas at various intervals, thus delaying the contract being finalised," Smith said.
MRF has held the contract since 2017.
