Australian Rally Champions Neal Bates and Nathan Quinn headline the entry for this weekend's Bega Valley Rally. It's local favourite, Ben Barker, who will lead the field away in his Alpine Rally-winning 1983 BMW 318is, however. Bates and long-time co-driver, Coral Taylor, are seeded second in their 1980 Toyota Celica RA40, with Quinn the fourth seed in his 1970 Mazda RX2. The rally is a round of the AMSAG and ACT Regional Rally Series, with a strong field of 65 entries ready to take on the region's mix of shire and forest roads.

Jayke Skeffington and Andrew Penny in a pair of Subaru WRXs are the odd couple in a top eight dominated by classic rear-wheel drive rally cars. Carl Stewart (Datsun), Dean Ridge and Ron Moore (Mitsubishis) are also likely to be in the running for a top five place, while former ARC class winner, Brett Middleton, will give his Honda Civic another run with son Oscar in the co-driver's seat. The rally starts a 1.00pm on Saturday, with competition continuing on Sunday.
