Despite claiming the coveted title of Australian Rally Championon Sunday, Toyota's Simon Evans has returned to the real world this week.

Evans was back pouring concrete today, admitting that just because he's the new Australian Champion, doesn't mean the work stops.

"It's actually been good because it's allowed me to get away from the phone, because it has hardly stopped ringing," he said today.

"It was such a relief to win the championship after so many years of trying, and it was a great reward for all those people who have helped over the years."

Evans will test Toyota's new normally-aspirated Super 2000 car in November, and said he expected the car to be faster than this year's Corolla.

"I wouldn't be surprised if the team ran one of the current cars and a Super 2000 car next year," he added.

For now though, it's back to work. Who said all the top rally drivers were professional drivers?
