Neal Bates Motorsport's Super 2000 Toyota Corolla is currently being checked over by the FIA's French technical officials to finalise homologation prior to Repco Rally Australia.

According to Denis Baker, Deputy Clerk of Course for this weekend's Border Ranges Rally, the Corolla has been scrutinised at Bates' Canberra workshop, before it will compete in the NSW Northern Rivers event this weekend.

The car won't be driven by Bates, but Queenslander Stewart Reid will take the wheel, with the experienced Mark Stacey in the co-driver's seat.

If the car passes the homologation process, it is not known who will drive the car in Rally Australia, but there are plenty of high profile names being thrown around, including a former Aussie WRC star.

The Border Ranges Rally is being run as the official Repco Rally Australia training event. The rally is a non-pacenote 'blind' rally.
