For the first time ever, three members of the family will compete in the same event, but in three different cars.

It will be a wonderful occasion for the family in their home rally – an event that Ron and Jo Moore ran in the 1990s while their children were still young.

In 2000, Jo jumped into the navigator’s seat for Ron to make the husband and wife team. They formed a formidable combination for the next 18 years.

Fast forward to 2021 and their youngest son, Lachlan, built his first rally Hyundai Excel rally car (the red rocket).

The car took Lachlan to second place in the NSW Excel Series in 2022, first in the Northern Series and first in the White Wolf Development Series.

2022 also saw Jo jump out of Ron’s car and step in beside Tim Woods in a Citroen DS3.

This weekend it will all culminate with Ron partnering with Paul Bennett in his Lancer Evolution 6, Lachlan will drive his Hyundai Excel with Paul Bailey, and Jo will call the corners for Tim Woods.

Ron’s Evo will run a special tribute livery this weekend in memory of their son Michael, who tragically lost his life earlier this year at the age of 22.

Both Lachlan and Tim’s cars will also carry tributes to Michael in a touching tribute.

Michael Moore will be remembered fondly at the Bathurst Rally.
