The provisional entry list for the 2010 Bega Valley Rally is now available. There have been 3 withdrawals from the original 61 entries but this still leaves a quality field of 58 entries. The field is dominated by Victorians this year with 33 entries but only 13 from NSW. There are another 12 crews who have not nominated for either Championship.

The top three seeded crews are;

#1 – Peter Roberts / David Darby – Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 (NSW)

#2 – Jesse Robison / Adam Wright – Subaru WRX (VIC)

#3 – Steve Forsberg / Craig Whyburn – Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 (NSW)

While car numbers are fixed, the prestigious ‘first car on road’ position will be balloted amongst these 3 crews at the competitor’s briefing at the Eden Fisherman’s Club on Saturday evening.

Leading VRC crews Nathan Reeves/Scott Spedding and Warren Lee/David Lethlean are seeded at 3$ and #6 respectively. The Victorian Hyundai crews have taken the event to heart and 8 cars entered with 5 of them seeded together as a block, which should make for some entertaining story-swapping at the end of each stage.

First of the 2WD crews are both from vastly experienced crews from Victoria and both in Nissan Silvias – Brian Semmens/Paul Franklin and Alan Friend/Robin Smalley.

The full entry list, along with Bulletin #1 and an Event Synopsis with descriptions of each stage are all now available at the Competitors page of the Bega Valley rally website - http://www.begavalleyrally.com.au/competitors

The Bega Valley Rally commences from Eden’s Snug Wharf at 9am next Sunday 13th June. Crews will contest 8 stages in the forest south and south-west of Eden with the first car due to finish back at the Eden Fisherman’s Club after a day of exhilarating rallying by 5pm. The popular Edrom Road Service Park will be a real hive of activity with the waiting service crews, refuel area, catering and scoring facilities being visited by competitors up 4 times during the day.
