With the 2011 Bosch Australian Rally Championship campaign being such a huge success for Britz and the DSA Motorsport Rally Team, Britz are excited to announce their further involvement for the 2012 campaign with the team.

The teams experienced rally driver Mark Butcher is very pleased to announce that Australia’s favourite Campervan Hire company – Britz – are the new major sponsor of his entry into selected events for the 2012 season.

“Spike”, the famous Britz gecko and the Britz logo were featured on the Black Subaru WRX driven by Butcher in the 2011 Bosch Australian Rally Championship. In 2012 Spike returns bigger and better and will no doubt be attracting a big following at this seasons motorsport events.

And as usual the team is hitting the ground running, launching into two events – only one week apart.

“Our 2011 rally season helped us to build a solid support team and a great presence for our sponsors” says Butcher. “We are keen to get straight into racing as well as exploring new opportunities”.

First stop is the 2012 Cradle Coast Rally which takes place on February 25-26 near Burnie in Tasmania. The team is looking forward to something different in this tarmac rally that attracts a variety of cars including high profile drivers.

The following weekend will be possibly the biggest event the in Australian Rally Championship history – with the 2012 ECB Rally Calder March 1-4. This event is being held just on the outskirts of Melbourne and will form part of Melbourne’s Festival of Speed.

“The event is the perfect opportunity for our team to really showcase both what we can do and the great campervans our sponsors will be bringing along” says Butcher. “We look forward to meeting lots of the general public and having them jump into the Rally Teams event headquarters – our very own Britz Campervan”.

“We were really pleased to have Britz involved with us last year and are now excited to have further support in 2012. At this stage we will be doing only selected events but we are keen to perform well with the plan to return to the full series in 2013” said driver Butcher.

For anyone that has ever wanted a weekend away but wasn’t sure where to go – Britz provide the ultimate solution. The vans are family friendly and easy to drive making them suitable for pretty much everyone.

At each event, Britz will have a van on display so that you can check them out and start planning your next adventure away.

Britz Australia Rally Team is also sponsored by Driver Skills Australia, who have enjoyed a long rally partnership. As a driver training company they deliver defensive driving, advanced and 4WD courses to large companies and the general public, Australia wide.
