Busselton will continue its claim as the home of major events in Western Australia when the QUIT Forest Rally returns to the coastal oasis in April 2008.

The forests of Nannup and the township of Busselton itself will again play host to the second round of the Australian Rally Championship, with teams from across the country making the trip across the Nullarbor to compete.

With the 2007 event boasting an entry list of 56 teams, the QUIT Forest Rally enables promotion of the region nationally through the coverage of the rally, in print, electronic, radio and television news.

The 2008 event will see the return of the successful Busselton Toyota Super Special Stages held on the Busselton Foreshore on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The carnival style atmosphere, when combined with one of the best tarmac super special stages in the national championship, provides an excellent spectator experience and is sure to continue to attract large crowds across both nights of competition.

New to the event will be the Shannon’s Busselton Tarmac Sprint which will be run as a tarmac event throughout the day on Saturday, using the same super special course.

The Shannon’s Busselton Tarmac Sprint will bring an additional 60 cars to Busselton, attracting both sides of rallying in Australia to the region on the same weekend.

The rally headquarters will be based out of the Bayview Geographe Resort in Busselton, providing the base for volunteers, officials and teams for the week of their stay.

Out in the Nannup Forest the stages have been modified since 2007 and will see teams face a total of 219 competitive kilometres across the unique ball-bearing roads of Western Australia.

As a round of the ARC and the Western Australia Rally Championship, the QUIT Forest Rally will run with two heats contested over Saturday and Sunday, while a one-day Clubman event is also running for teams on Saturday.

The QUIT Forest Rally will also see the return of major sponsors Healthway, Eventscorp and Busselton Toyota.
