Chinese media have reported that the 2010 Chinese Rally Champion, Liu Chao Dong, has died of alcohol poisoning at the age of just 26.
Dong was the country's best known rally driver, and contested the 2010 Rally of Great Britain in an M-Sport prepared Ford Focus RS World Rally car with Australian, Anthony McLoughlin, co-driving.
According to the Chinese website, www.sports.sina.com.cn, Dong suffered a cerebral edema caused by hypoxia alcoholism, and passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Anthony McLoughlin was unavailable for comment when contacted by RallySport Magazine.
