One supplier caught in the collapse is media company Winter Wonderland Productions who covered the 2009 rally on behalf of Silverstone Events.
“We were contracted to shoot Classic Adelaide, produce TV content for national broadcast and create the official DVD. And we were very happy with the final product”, said Mark- John Winter, director of Winter Wonderland Productions.
If the feedback from competitors and enthusiasts is anything to go by, the coverage is considered the some of the best produced in the event’s 13 year history.
“We have been made aware that some competitors have purchased DVDs direct from Silverstone Events but have not received them. And there are many enthusiasts who haven’t been able to secure a copy. We’re not the only ones caught up in this mess” Mr Winter explained.
“We want to do the right thing. Where Silverstone has failed, we want to fulfil our obligation to the rally and wider motorsport community by delivering the product we were contracted to”, he added. People interested in buying copies of the 2009 DVD, or competitors who have already purchased from Silverstone Events, are asked to visit the Winter Wonderland Productions website (www.winterwonderland.com.au) and follow the Classic Adelaide DVD link on the homepage.
When discussing the future Mr Winter said: “We’re excited to be covering the ASP Adelaide Hills tarmac rally later this month for the Southern Districts Car Club. We sincerely hope this is not the end for Classic Adelaide. It was a fantastic event to work on and we hope it can return under new management in the future.”
