The Classic Outback Trial has been postponed until next year, as Victoria goes into lockdown because of the Coronavirus. Complications in regard to preparation and competing logistics for competitors and organisers has forced the organisers to again postpone the event from its initially revised date of November 1 – 7. It will be now held from March 7 to 13, 2021. “It is imperative for us to provide a high degree of certainty that the event will proceed, on the nominated date, for our competitors and officials, which is unable to be achieved at the moment with the closure of several State borders, and the continuing of the State lockdowns,” Event Director Philip Bernadou confirmed. “Open borders are a key factor to ensure the finalisation of the preparation of the event, together with the lifting of the restrictions on the number of people who can gather together, which will make for an enjoyable and successful event. Therefore we must move to another date.” The 2020 Classic Outback Trial will now start in the Central West NSW town of Parkes on Sunday, March 7, 2021. After two days of special stage rallying around Parkes, the event will move to Orange for two nights before heading further east to Bathurst for the final three days. “COT20” will finish on Saturday, March 13 with the much-anticipated celebration and presentation dinner to be held at the famous Mt Panorama Motor Racing Circuit.
