Jari-Matti Latvala’s co-driver, Miikka Anttila, achieved an impressive record when he started Rally Finland.
Presented at a pre-event presentation in Jyvaskyla was a trophy on the occasion of the start of his 189th World Rally Championship event, surpassing the previous record held by Denis Giraudet.
Thirty-four year old Miikka now finds himself with only the former driver Carlos Sainz, at 196 events, with more active WRC experience.
Latvala's personal record is 177 WRC events, all except one event with Antilla.
Anttila was asked if he had an early career retirement in mind.
"No chance,” he replied, "I am after catching up with Carlos!"
Miikka has already won 17 WRC events.
