Three-time Australian, and four-time Asia-Pacific Rally Champion, Cody Crocker, will return to Tasmania for the 30th anniversary running of Rally Tasmania this month.

Australia's most decorated rally driver, Crocker will drive a Subaru Impreza WRX STI as the lead car in the Rally Tasmania Tour, a low-speed addition to this year's event.

Entrants in the Rally Tasmania Tour will drive over the same course as the event competitors. Crocker will lead the tour field with various Subaru executives on board.

"It's fantastic to have Cody involved in the event," Rally Tasmania operations manager, Kevin O'Daly, said.

"Cody is an icon in Australian rallying and we're sure that his participation in the rally will generate huge spectator interest."

The Rally Tasmania Tour will follow the field in the Australian Rally Championship component of the event, with all cars adhering to a maximum speed limit.

The 30th Rally Tasmania has attracted over 50 entries, and will be based out of Burnie from February 26 - 28. In all drivers will tackle 19 special stages covering a total competitive distance of 210 kilometres. Three stages on Friday afternoon will be followed by eight stages on both Saturday and Sunday.

The highlight for spectators will be two runs around the Burnie street stage on Sunday afternoon, the last two stages of the rally.  This will be followed by a Food and Wine Festival on the Burnie foreshore.
