Regulations for the Australian Rally Championship’s season-ending Allied Air Conditioning / Daikin Coffs Coast Rally have been released.

Catering for all comers, the two-day event also doubles as the New South Wales State Championship’s final round and will be based out of Coffs Harbour, using traditional stages such as the Sherwood Road four times, plus roads in the Newry State Forest not used for over nine years.

The International Stadium is the location for the event’s single service park, and rally headquarters will be at the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort. While pacenotes will be open to all competitors, a complete roadbook will be provided (however safety notes will not).

The rally is an ideal stepping-stone to ARC events for NSW Championship contenders.

“The rally will allow state competitors to run on pacenotes on day one as part of the state championship. They can also pay the extra fee and compete on day two should they desire; the choice is theirs,” Event Manager, Martin Quinn, said.

New South Wales State Championship events have been held in the Coffs coast region for many years now, which should see local competitors having an edge over their ARC compatriots, with plenty of experience in the Northern Forests and down the infamous Sherwood Road stage.

“This is a great opportunity for the NSW State competitors to test themselves against the ARC with a great advantage of local knowledge. The Coffs Harbour & District Car Club had several reasons for taking on the ARC in NSW and providing solid pathways for our NSW competitors to get a taste of ARC competition and conditions, and be treated with equal billing was definitely one of them,” Quinn said.

“Another bonus for State competitors is that they will be able to participate in the ceremonial start in Coffs City Centre on the Friday evening; we really feel that this is a win-win situation for the sport,” event Clerk of Course, Tony Creer, added.
